The Bone Garden is the 13th stand-alone novel by Tess Gerritsen. While it is not a Rizzoli/Isles book, Maura Isles does make a fleeting appearance at the beginning of the book. The novel tells two stories set in different time periods. “The Bone Garden” is outside the normal run of Rizzoli and Isles books as it only briefly features Maura Isles at the start when the bones are first discovered. I’m not normally a fan of historical fiction but the premise of this massively intrigued me and it was 99p on Kindle sale so a bit of a no brainer really and I actually loved it. A fantastic insight into s Boston and to Victorian Medicine. Gerritsen has pulled on her own medical knowledge fantastically to tell this tale surrounding a hospital and a group of medical students who face a race to find a serial killer terrorising the streets.
